Plaquex®

Plaquex® is a phosphatidylcholine-based intravenous therapy offered within OWM’s Integrative & Functional Medicine services. Phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid found in cell membranes, where it contributes to their structure and function.

At OWM, treatment begins with a clinical evaluation to determine whether this therapy is appropriate within your broader care plan.

Our Approach

Individualized assessment
Your provider reviews your medical history, medications, relevant testing, and treatment goals before recommending a course of care.

Clinical context
Plaquex® has been explored for applications involving lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health. Its proposed benefits require careful consideration of the available evidence, and treatment should complement established medical care rather than replace it.

Coordinated care
Recommendations are considered alongside nutrition, lifestyle, prescribed medications, and other measures relevant to your health.

The Experience

Intravenous treatment
Plaquex® is administered through an IV while you rest comfortably under clinical supervision. Your care team explains the treatment process and monitors your response throughout the session.

A planned course of care
Treatment may involve a series of infusions. The number and frequency of appointments, along with any accompanying therapies, are determined by your provider.

Ongoing review
Follow-up allows your team to assess tolerance, review relevant clinical findings, and determine whether continued treatment is appropriate.

Before beginning, your provider will discuss potential side effects, contraindications, and the limitations of the evidence, including that Plaquex® should not be presented as a proven method for removing arterial plaque or reversing heart disease.
