Recovery & Performance Therapies

Supporting physical recovery, restoring movement, and optimizing performance through an integrative approach.

At OWM Integrative Wellness, recovery and performance go beyond relieving temporary muscle soreness. Our physician-led approach combines regenerative orthopedics, targeted nutrient therapies, advanced oxygen technologies, and personalized movement strategies to address the factors that may interfere with healing and physical performance.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing ongoing joint discomfort, or looking to support your body’s ability to perform, our team develops individualized treatment strategies based on your physical health, functional needs, and long-term goals.

What Are Recovery & Performance Therapies?

Recovery and performance therapies are treatments designed to support the body’s natural recovery processes, improve mobility, and address physical limitations.

Rather than focusing exclusively on symptoms, OWM evaluates the structural, metabolic, circulatory, and neurological factors that may contribute to pain, fatigue, reduced mobility, or delayed recovery.

Depending on individual needs, care may incorporate intravenous nutrient therapy, regenerative orthopedic procedures, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, circulation support, and therapeutic movement. Some of these treatments are established for specific medical conditions, while others are emerging or investigational approaches with more limited clinical evidence.

What Recovery & Performance Therapies Are Available at OWM?

Intravenous Nutrient & Cellular Support

Repair & Recover IV Therapy

A targeted intravenous nutrient formulation containing minerals, vitamin C, B vitamins, amino acids, and glutathione. This therapy is designed to replenish selected nutrients and support normal metabolic and antioxidant functions. IV supplementation may be appropriate when clinically indicated, although improvements in athletic recovery have not been established for otherwise healthy individuals.

Mitochondrial & ATP Support

OWM’s cellular-support offerings may include NAD+, CoQ10, methylene blue, and spermidine protocols. These compounds are studied for their relationships to cellular metabolism, mitochondrial function, and oxidative stress. Clinical evidence supporting intravenous use for athletic recovery remains limited, and suitability requires individualized medical review.

Weber Endo Laser Photobiomodulation

This technology uses specific wavelengths of low-level laser light delivered through specialized applicators. Photobiomodulation is being investigated for its potential effects on cellular signaling, mitochondrial activity, inflammation, and tissue recovery. Evidence varies by application, and intravenous or interstitial delivery remains investigational.

Oxygen & Bioenergetic Therapies

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

OWM offers hard-shell hyperbaric oxygen therapy at pressures up to 2.0 ATA. During treatment, patients breathe oxygen in a pressurized environment, increasing the amount of oxygen dissolved in blood plasma.

HBOT has recognized medical applications for certain conditions involving compromised tissue oxygenation and healing. Its use for routine athletic recovery, sports injuries, and performance enhancement remains under investigation.

Human Regenerator Power Jet Bed

The Human Regenerator Power Jet uses cold atmospheric plasma technology in a noninvasive wellness setting. Cold atmospheric plasma is being studied for potential biological effects, including interactions with oxidative processes and cellular signaling. However, claims involving systemic rejuvenation, enhanced athletic recovery, or nervous system regulation have not been established through high-quality clinical trials.

Regenerative Orthopedics & Soft Tissue Therapies

Under the direction of Dr. Leonard Kaplan, DO, OWM offers image-guided orthopedic treatments designed to evaluate and address musculoskeletal concerns.

Hackett-Hemwall Prolotherapy

An injection-based approach that evaluates the joint and its surrounding ligaments, tendons, and supportive structures. Prolotherapy is used for selected musculoskeletal conditions, although the strength of evidence varies by condition.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) & SuperShot® PRP

PRP uses concentrated components of a patient’s own blood, including platelets containing biologically active growth factors. These injections are used in selected orthopedic conditions, with ongoing research examining their potential role in symptom relief and tissue healing. Results vary, and PRP has not been established as a reliable method for regenerating cartilage or repairing all tendon and ligament tears.

Self-Renewal Cellular Therapy

Cell-based regenerative approaches are being studied for their potential applications in musculoskeletal conditions. These treatments require careful consideration of product origin, processing methods, regulatory status, and clinical evidence. Stem cell products have not received FDA approval for orthopedic conditions such as osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, or disc disease.

TENEX™ Tenotomy

A minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided procedure that uses a specialized instrument to target and remove damaged tendon tissue. TENEX may be considered for certain chronic tendon conditions when conservative treatment has not provided sufficient improvement.

Nerve & Tissue Hydrodissection

An ultrasound-guided technique that introduces fluid around targeted nerves or tissue planes. The objective is to separate surrounding structures and improve tissue mobility in selected cases of nerve entrapment or restricted soft tissue movement.

Intraosseous Restorative Therapy (IOT)

An orthopedic approach directed toward the bone beneath joint cartilage. Treatment may focus on subchondral bone abnormalities associated with certain painful joint conditions. Specific methods and potential outcomes depend on the underlying diagnosis, and evidence supporting individual techniques varies.

Who May Benefit From Recovery & Performance Therapies?

Recovery and performance services may be considered for individuals experiencing:

  • Recurring muscle soreness or physical fatigue
  • Joint discomfort, stiffness, or restricted mobility
  • Tendon and ligament concerns
  • Difficulty returning to activity following an injury
  • Muscle tightness or limited flexibility
  • Physical demands associated with exercise, sports, or active occupations
  • A desire to improve movement quality and long-term physical function

Not every therapy is appropriate for every individual. A clinical evaluation helps determine which services may be beneficial, which are experimental, and whether more established treatments should be prioritized.

What to Expect

Your recovery and performance experience begins with an assessment of your symptoms, physical demands, medical history, and goals.

When appropriate, Dr. Kaplan and the OWM team may recommend diagnostic testing, movement evaluation, imaging, or a combination of supportive and interventional therapies.

Some services may be available as individual appointments, while others require a more comprehensive clinical evaluation or structured treatment plan.

A More Personalized Approach to Recovery

Recovery is not simply about returning to activity. It is about understanding what may be limiting your body’s function and identifying appropriate ways to support lasting mobility, strength, and physical well-being.

At OWM Integrative Wellness, we bring together functional assessment, integrative care, and advanced technologies to help patients make informed decisions about their recovery.
