Athletic Recovery

Recover with intention. Move with confidence. Perform at your best.

Whether you’re training for your next challenge, returning from an injury, or simply looking to feel stronger and more capable, recovery is an essential part of physical performance.

At OWM Integrative Wellness, we take a personalized approach to athletic recovery. By combining advanced recovery technologies, regenerative orthopedic care, and targeted nutritional support, we help individuals address physical discomfort, support the body’s natural recovery processes, and maintain an active lifestyle.

What Is Athletic Recovery?

Athletic recovery is the process of helping your body rest, repair, and adapt after physical activity or injury.

Exercise places stress on your muscles, joints, and connective tissues. While some of that stress is necessary for building strength and endurance, proper recovery allows your body to adapt and prepare for its next physical demand.

At OWM, athletic recovery goes beyond muscle soreness. We consider factors such as circulation, movement, joint health, nutrition, and cellular function to understand what may be affecting your recovery.

Our approach brings together supportive therapies and specialized orthopedic treatments, with recommendations tailored to your individual needs.

What Athletic Recovery Therapies Does OWM Offer?

IV Nutrient & Cellular Support

Repair & Recover IV Therapy

A specialized blend of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and glutathione designed to provide targeted nutritional support. These nutrients play important roles in normal muscle function, metabolism, and cellular health. IV supplementation may be considered when clinically appropriate, although it has not been proven to speed athletic recovery in otherwise healthy individuals.

Mitochondrial & Energy Support

Treatments involving NAD+, CoQ10, and methylene blue are being studied for their roles in cellular energy production and metabolism. While these compounds are associated with processes that help cells produce energy, the benefits and safety of intravenous use for athletic performance and recovery are not well established.

Weber Endo Laser Photobiomodulation

A specialized technology that uses different wavelengths of low-level laser light. Photobiomodulation is being researched for its potential effects on cellular activity, circulation, and tissue recovery. Intravenous delivery remains investigational, and its effectiveness for athletic recovery has not been established.

Oxygen & Recovery Technologies

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, patients breathe oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. This increases the amount of oxygen dissolved in the blood, making more oxygen available to tissues.

HBOT is an established treatment for certain medical conditions. Its potential benefits for sports injuries, exercise recovery, and athletic performance are still being studied.

Human Regenerator Power Jet Bed

A noninvasive wellness experience that uses cold atmospheric plasma technology. This emerging technology is being explored for its potential interactions with cellular processes and oxidative stress. Its ability to improve athletic recovery or physical performance has not yet been established through high-quality clinical research.

Regenerative Orthopedics & Tissue Care

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) & SuperShot® PRP

PRP uses concentrated platelets from your own blood, which contain growth factors involved in the body’s natural healing processes. Using ultrasound guidance, Dr. Kaplan can deliver treatment to targeted areas, such as tendons, ligaments, or joints.

PRP may help with symptoms of certain orthopedic conditions, although results depend on the injury, preparation method, and individual patient. Claims of faster healing or greater effectiveness with specialized PRP preparations require further clinical evidence.

TENEX™ Tenotomy

A minimally invasive procedure used to treat certain chronic tendon conditions. With ultrasound guidance, a specialized instrument targets and removes damaged tendon tissue through a small incision.

TENEX may be considered for persistent tendon discomfort that has not improved sufficiently with more conservative treatment.

Nerve & Tissue Hydrodissection

An ultrasound-guided procedure that uses fluid to gently separate tissues surrounding a nerve. This technique may help improve nerve movement and relieve symptoms associated with certain types of nerve entrapment.

Recovery Peptides

Certain peptides, including BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, and ipamorelin, are being studied for possible effects on tissue signaling, growth hormone activity, and recovery.

These compounds remain investigational for sports injury recovery. Their safety and effectiveness for accelerating muscle, tendon, or ligament healing have not been adequately established in human clinical trials.

Circulation & Muscle Recovery

Normatec® Compression Therapy

Normatec uses specialized sleeves that gently inflate and release pressure along the legs in a controlled sequence.

This rhythmic compression may help reduce the sensation of muscle soreness and provide temporary relief from post-exercise fatigue. It offers a comfortable, noninvasive recovery option following physically demanding activity.

What Are the Benefits of Athletic Recovery Therapies?

Depending on the treatment and your individual needs, athletic recovery services may help:

  • Ease muscle soreness: Support comfort following exercise or physically demanding activities.
  • Improve mobility: Address certain movement restrictions or musculoskeletal concerns.
  • Support circulation: Encourage normal blood flow through targeted compression therapies.
  • Address persistent injuries: Explore appropriate orthopedic treatments for certain tendon, joint, or nerve conditions.
  • Personalize recovery: Identify which supportive treatments may be appropriate for your training, symptoms, and recovery goals.

Results vary by therapy. Not all services have demonstrated benefits for athletic performance, and some are still being researched.

Who May Benefit From Athletic Recovery Therapies?

Athletic recovery services may be appropriate for:

  • Athletes and physically active individuals
  • People experiencing recurring muscle soreness or joint discomfort
  • Individuals returning to activity following an injury
  • Those managing chronic tendon or soft tissue concerns
  • Individuals looking for additional recovery support after demanding physical activity
  • Anyone seeking to maintain mobility and an active lifestyle

A clinical evaluation can help determine which therapies are appropriate, particularly when symptoms persist or an injury is suspected.

What to Expect

Your experience begins with understanding your physical concerns, activity level, and recovery goals.

Some services, such as Normatec compression therapy, may be suitable for individual recovery visits. Others, including regenerative orthopedic procedures and certain intravenous treatments, require a more detailed clinical assessment.

Your OWM provider can help you understand the available options, expected benefits, potential risks, and how each treatment may fit into your broader health and recovery plan.
