Low-Level Laser
Therapy

Low-Level IV laser therapy delivers selected wavelengths of light through a fine optical fiber placed within a venous catheter. Using the Weber Endo Laser system, treatment may be offered independently or alongside a prescribed intravenous infusion, with each protocol tailored to your medical history and clinical goals.

What it is.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also called photobiomodulation, uses selected wavelengths of light to influence cellular activity. At OWM, we offer several applications, including intravenous light delivery through a fiberoptic catheter, interstitial delivery into selected tissues, and helmet-based treatment for brain health protocols. We may incorporate these approaches alongside nutrient infusions or physical medicine care, depending on your needs.

Who it’s for.

Patients exploring additional support for persistent discomfort, tissue recovery, or selected cognitive wellness concerns. The appropriate application depends on your symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment goals, with our team reviewing whether light therapy has a useful role within your broader care plan.

What to expect.

The Experience

Your treatment begins with a clinical assessment to determine the appropriate wavelengths, session duration, and any accompanying infusion. During the session, you rest comfortably while our team monitors your treatment and ensures your care follows the prescribed plan.

Protocols offered at OWM include:

  • Rainbow Protocol: A combination of wavelengths incorporated into an individualized treatment plan.
  • Riboflavin Protocol: Riboflavin paired with blue and ultraviolet light.
  • Curcumin Protocol: Curcumin paired with yellow and ultraviolet light.
  • Yellow Light Protocol: Yellow light delivered as a standalone treatment.
  • Repair & Recover Protocol: Red light, which may accompany OWM’s Repair & Recover infusion.
  • Vitamin C Protocol: Blue and ultraviolet light paired with a prescribed vitamin C infusion.
  • Brain Fit Protocol: Blue, red, and yellow light paired with OWM’s Brain Fit infusion.
  • Methylene Blue Protocol: Red and ultraviolet light paired with methylene blue when clinically appropriate.

The Clinical Approach

Light-based therapies are being studied for their effects on cellular activity and biological signaling. Certain protocols combine selected wavelengths with photosensitive compounds that respond to light, with the treatment approach determined by the substance used and the clinical context.

The evidence for intravenous laser therapy varies by application, and its proposed benefits remain under investigation. Your provider will discuss the rationale, potential risks, and limitations of your recommended protocol, ensuring that treatment is considered within the context of your overall health and ongoing care.

Important to know.

Evidence for photobiomodulation varies by condition, device, wavelength, and delivery method. Findings from external light treatments do not establish the same benefits for intravenous or interstitial applications, including claims that light activates infused nutrients. Helmet treatment is noninvasive, while catheter- and needle-based approaches carry additional risks such as bruising, bleeding, and infection. We review the proposed benefits, limitations, and alternatives so you can make an informed choice.
