IV Antioxidant Therapy

IV antioxidant therapy delivers a prescribed preparation directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous line. At OWM Integrative Wellness, we consider selected nutrients and antioxidant compounds within an individualized plan, with attention to your health history, current medications, and clinical needs.

Intravenous administration bypasses digestive absorption, but it does not guarantee complete cellular uptake or a particular health benefit. The formulation, dose, and purpose of each treatment remain important.

Understanding Antioxidants

Antioxidants participate in the body’s management of reactive molecules known as free radicals. These molecules have normal biological roles, although an imbalance can contribute to oxidative stress.

The activity of a substance in a laboratory does not establish that an infusion will reduce inflammation, restore organ function, or treat disease. We discuss the evidence relevant to the specific preparation and its proposed use.

Preparations Considered at OWM

Glutathione
Glutathione is an antioxidant produced by the body. Our menu includes its use as an IV push or an addition to selected infusions. We assess the intended role and suitability of the preparation rather than presenting it as a proven means of removing toxins.

Alpha-lipoic acid
Alpha-lipoic acid participates in cellular energy metabolism and has antioxidant properties. Its clinical relevance depends on the condition, formulation, and route of administration; it should not be described as universally restoring nerve or organ health.

High-dose vitamin C
Our described vitamin C protocols range from 25 to 100 grams, including the Mega C Immune Rescue offering. Higher-dose treatment requires an individual safety assessment, including kidney function, G6PD testing, and medication review.

Research into high-dose intravenous vitamin C continues, particularly in oncology. It is not a guaranteed immune boost or an established cancer treatment.

Curcumin
Curcumin is a compound found in turmeric that has been studied for its biological effects. Intravenous preparations have distinct safety considerations, including potentially serious reactions, and evidence from dietary or oral use cannot establish the safety or effectiveness of an infusion.

Quercetin
Quercetin is a plant-derived flavonoid studied for antioxidant and inflammatory signaling effects. Claims involving immune resilience or mast-cell conditions require evidence specific to the preparation and route being proposed.

EGCG
Epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG, is a green-tea polyphenol. Its antioxidant properties are an area of research, but an intravenous preparation should not be presented as a proven treatment for genetic repair, cognitive function, or cellular energy.

Oliphenolia®
Oliphenolia is an olive-derived polyphenol preparation. Published human research has examined oral consumption; this does not establish intravenous safety or benefit. We would need to verify the exact product and intended route before including it as an infusion option.

Light-Based Treatment

OWM may pair selected infusions with the Weber Endo Laser system, which delivers light through a fine optical fiber placed within a venous catheter. The wavelengths and accompanying preparation are selected according to the proposed protocol.

Some substances can respond to specific wavelengths under defined conditions. However, pairing an infusion with light does not establish that every antioxidant is activated or that cellular uptake and energy production are increased. We explain the rationale and limitations of the particular combination.

The Experience

We review your medical history, allergies, medications, and any relevant testing before treatment. During the appointment, our team monitors the infusion and your comfort, with administration time determined by the prescribed preparation.

Potential risks include irritation at the IV site, infection, allergic reactions, and ingredient-specific complications. If you are undergoing cancer treatment, compatibility with your oncology regimen requires particular review.

Follow-up considers your response and whether further treatment is appropriate within your broader care plan.
