Tissue Sources & Preparations
Patient-Derived Material
Autologous preparations use material collected from your own bone marrow or adipose tissue. Bone marrow is typically collected from the iliac crest of the pelvis, while adipose tissue may be collected from the abdomen or buttocks.
We use ultrasound guidance where appropriate during collection and process the material onsite according to the selected protocol. These preparations contain mixed cellular populations rather than necessarily purified or expanded mesenchymal stem cells.
Selected protocols incorporate red low-level laser delivery at the collection site before harvesting. We explain its proposed role separately, as improved cellular vitality or clinical outcomes from this addition have not been established.
Donor-Derived Placental Preparations
Other protocols describe placental matrix or placenta-derived exosomes sourced from screened donors following full-term births.
Placental matrix, living cellular preparations, and exosomes are distinct products. Exosomes are cell-derived vesicles involved in signaling; they are not self-renewing cells. We review the specific preparation, processing documentation, and regulatory requirements before considering its proposed use.
Chronic illness, systemic inflammation, or a weakened immune system requires careful assessment but does not independently establish that donor-derived material is preferable to your own tissue.
Proposed Biological Role
Cells and extracellular signaling molecules participate in normal tissue maintenance, inflammatory regulation, and repair. Research examines whether selected preparations can influence these processes in musculoskeletal conditions.
Their presence in a preparation does not establish that treatment regenerates cartilage, repairs a spinal disc, or prevents further joint deterioration. Clinical expectations depend on the product, condition, and available evidence.
Supporting Protocols
Three-Day Preconditioning IV Package
Selected plans include a three-day series of nutrient and oxygen/ozone-based infusions before the proposed procedure. We explain each component and its intended role, recognizing that improved cell survival, activity, or treatment efficacy from this package has not been established.
Peptide Preparations
Our protocols may include BPC-157 or thymosin beta-4 within proposed injection solutions, with CJC-1295 or ipamorelin discussed before harvesting.
Each preparation requires separate review of evidence, product quality, regulatory status, and risks. These additions should not be presented as established methods of increasing stem cell potency or enhancing regeneration.
Ultrasound-Guided Placement
We use real-time, high-resolution ultrasound to visualize relevant anatomy and guide injection placement. Imaging supports precision while procedural risks remain.
Interstitial Photobiomodulation
Selected plans may incorporate fiberoptic low-level light delivery within the treatment area. We discuss its proposed application separately, as activation of the injected preparation or improved outcomes from the combined approach has not been established.
Conditions We Evaluate
Consultation may address:
- Osteoarthritis of the shoulders, knees, hips, ankles, wrists, and hands
- Degenerative disc and other spinal conditions
- Persistent symptoms following spinal fusion
- Associated limitations in movement and daily function
These concerns require distinct treatment decisions. Depending on the findings, we may recommend rehabilitation, another procedure, specialist evaluation, or surgery.
Safety & Clinical Expectations
Using your own tissue reduces concerns about donor incompatibility but does not eliminate inflammatory reactions or complications. Donor-derived preparations also carry risks, including infection, immune reactions, and uncertainty about product composition.
Collection and injection may cause soreness, bruising, bleeding, infection, or injury to nearby structures. Safety findings from one preparation or procedure cannot be generalized across all cellular therapies or compared directly with ibuprofen without appropriate supporting evidence.
Cellular and exosome products should not be described as FDA-approved treatments for the orthopedic conditions listed here. Before proceeding, we discuss the specific product, applicable regulatory pathway, evidence, alternatives, and recovery requirements.
