Thermofield® Targeted Hyperthermia

Deep tissue hyperthermia that uses radio frequency heat to ease pain, improve circulation, and support natural healing.

What it is.

Targeted hyperthermia, also called deep tissue hyperthermia, is a noninvasive treatment that applies controlled heat beneath the skin. At OWM, it is delivered with the Thermofield system, which uses radio frequency energy to warm tissue as deep as six centimeters. This heat is intended to increase circulation to injured tissue, joints, or nerves, which may help ease pain and support the body’s repair process.

Who it’s for.

Adults managing pain from injury, joint problems, or nerve irritation. It is also offered as supportive care for people in cancer treatment, alongside their oncology plan.

What to expect.

A typical course for pain management is 10 to 12 sessions of 30 minutes each, twice a week. Maintenance treatments may be recommended every six to twelve months. For your first visit, bring a current list of medications and supplements, recent test results, and your most important questions.

Important to know.

Targeted hyperthermia is not FDA-approved as a cancer therapy and is not a substitute for surgery, radiation, systemic therapy, or oncology follow-up. Your OWM physician will coordinate with your oncologist on timing and safety.
