Am I a good candidate for Venus Versa IPL Hair Reduction?
Venus Versa™ hair reduction l treatments are powered by Intense Pulsed Light technology, which targets the pigment in your hair follicle. The hair must be dark brown to black for successful hair reduction.
IPL treatments also tend to work best for light to medium skin tones. The treatment may work on darker skin, but there is a higher risk of discoloration because dark pigment is the target chromophore. This increases risk of complications during treatment. It is best to consult with your treatment provider to see if the treatment is right for you.
Is there downtime after treatments?
The Venus Versa IPL treatments are non-invasive and non-ablative. You may return to your normal activities immediately with no downtime. Some patients may experience temporary redness which may last up to a few hours after treatment. Makeup may be worn after a treatment if desired.
How many sessions will I need?
Satisfactory hair reduction is typically achieved in 8-12 sessions.
How long is each session?
An average Venus Versa IPL session lasts about 15-90 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area.
