Leonard Kaplan, DO

Dr. Leonard Kaplan, DO, is an integrative and regenerative medicine physician whose career has been defined by a commitment to expanding what is possible for patients.

Born in Russia and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Kaplan grew up in an immigrant family and developed the resilience and resourcefulness that would later shape his approach to medicine. After medical school, he served as a physician in the U.S. Army before completing specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

His early career focused on rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine, diagnostic ultrasound, and image-guided procedures. Over time, his clinical interests expanded into regenerative medicine, functional and integrative medicine, healthy aging, advanced diagnostics, infusion therapy, photobiomodulation, and integrative cancer support.

In 2014, Dr. Kaplan and his wife, Beth, founded Osteopathic Wellness Medicine in Western New York, which later became OWM Integrative Wellness. He built the practice around a more comprehensive model of care, one that allows time to investigate contributing factors, consider the whole patient, and create highly personalized treatment strategies.

Dr. Kaplan has pursued advanced training through organizations including the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the Metabolic Terrain Institute, where he completed fellowship training in the Metabolic Terrain Approach to Cancer. He has also remained active in professional organizations focused on regenerative medicine, peptide therapy, and emerging medical technologies.

A particular area of interest is medical laser therapy and photobiomodulation. Dr. Kaplan has worked with advanced Weber Medical laser technologies, including transcranial laser therapy, interstitial laser applications, and the Weber Laser Helmet. His work has included evaluating clinical protocols and exploring how light-based therapies may be integrated into neurological, regenerative, and whole-body care.

He also has extensive experience in diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided regenerative procedures, allowing him to evaluate musculoskeletal conditions and perform image-guided treatments using platelet-rich plasma and other regenerative approaches.

Dr. Kaplan designs and oversees integrative programs for patients seeking support for chronic illness, longevity and vitality goals, and care during cancer treatment. His approach emphasizes resilience, function, recovery, and quality of life.

At the center of his philosophy is a willingness to question convention while remaining focused on meaningful patient outcomes.

For Dr. Kaplan, innovation is not about using the newest treatment. It is about continually expanding the ways medicine can support how people feel, function, and live.
