We are very excited to announce that Medical Scribe, Komal Saggu will be attending Upstate Medical School in Syracuse after spending a gap year at OWM. Komal said she had a lovely experience at OWM during which her interest in an integrative healthcare approach was bolstered. Her belief that disease processes don’t only work on one organ system was affirmed while she worked with the many patients at OWM. She will be missed by all who have come to know her. We wish her all the best as she pursues her career in medicine.
There are others that have used their experience to advance their careers in healthcare. OWM’s Medical Receptionist, Brianna Sannasith, had already taken additional steps to become a certified phlebotomist, but more recently decided to pursue a degree in nursing. Yet another Medical Scribe, Sophia Kaplan, used her gap year to obtain real world exposure to patient care. Sophia is currently attending Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and admits that her time at OWM prepared her well for medical school.
OWM Integrative Wellness is pleased to help gap year students obtain experience in healthcare. If you have an interest in a healthcare career or plan to attend Medical School, let us know if you would be interested in spending a gap year in OWM’s innovative integrative and naturopathic medicine environment.
