Knee Supportive Therapy

Knee Supportive Therapy services offered in Buffalo, NY

Knee joint pain is common and can affect people of all ages from adolescence to the twilight years. Patellofemoral pain syndrome is one of the most common overuse conditions while osteoarthritis is seen as the most common age-related condition that affects the knee. Problems at the hip, as well as the foot and ankle, influence the knee joint. It can be affected by trauma or age-related wear and tear and osteoarthritis.

DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS

A thorough examination is conducted on every patient. Structural deficits, restrictions, as well as muscle weakness and imbalances are identified. X-rays and State of the art Ultrasound technology are used for the diagnosis of knee problems. Advanced imaging techniques such as MRI can be used for further assessment.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Knee joint problems are a common source of gait impairment and a frequent cause of hip and low back pain.

A combination of ligamentous instability, cartilage degeneration, and joint inflammation is typically the underlying cause.

OWM Integrative Wellness offers cutting-edge effective treatments that include dextrose prolotherapy, PRP, stem cell, and peptide therapy to help the knee region heal naturally.

Early treatment of knee arthritis with these methods can often delay or prevent surgical intervention in the future.

DEXTROSE AND CELLULAR PROLOTHERAPY

Ultrasound-guided Prolozone injections of the knee joint can relieve pain and inflammation of the arthritic joint. Frequently the knee joint is a victim of underlying ligamentous instability. Dr. Kaplan uses a Hacket and Hamwell method to treat the entire knee ligament, cartilage, and tendon complex to promote joint stabilization. Treatment of underlying knee joint degeneration and instability frequently helps to avoid or postpone surgery. Unlike a more commonly used target-specific approach where just the knee joint is injected, our technique restores stability to the areas around the joint. This not only allows for better healing but prevents the recurrence of the breakdown of the area in the future.

Concentrated dextrose solution is the first line of OWM regenerative treatments. When injected around the superficial and deep ligaments of the knee, it promotes ligament regeneration and mild cartilage repair.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a stronger cellular treatment. It promotes joint cartilage regeneration and repair of worn cartilage and ligament. PRP prolotherapy technique is used in more advanced arthritic and degenerative cartilage in addition to meniscal tear cases. It directly delivers growth factors in the damaged tissue and activates a signaling mechanism that stimulates the body’s stem cell production and recruitment to the site of injury. Repair and new tissue growth occur quickly and naturally.

Stem cell therapy is the most advanced regenerative technique available. Stem cells are extracted from either the bone marrow or fat and are immediately reinjected in and around the hip joint. Direct delivery of mesenchymal stem cells into the affected area allows for repair by the growth of new healthy tissue.

Dr. Kaplan’s in-depth knowledge of peptide therapy allows him to stimulate repair and regeneration with specifically selected peptides. Tissue-repairing peptides BPC and Thymosin beta 4 are used in the injection solutions and CJC/ Ipamorellin is often used to stimulate stem cell activity before the procedure.

These peptides stimulate and enhance, Dextrose prolotherapy, PRP, and Stem cells’ regenerative potential.
