Hip Joint Supportive Therapy

Hip Joint Supportive Therapy

Hip Joint Supportive Therapy therapy services offered in Buffalo, NY

Hip joint pain can be present in the younger years as a result of an injury, but is more common in the later years of life as a result of osteoarthritis and overuse-related tendonitis. It is typically disabling and requires aggressive treatment.

Diagnostic Tools

A thorough examination is conducted on every patient. Dr. Kaplan’s osteopathic training allows him to diagnose hip joint instability and potential labral tears that can be a source of previously undiagnosed pain. Structural deficits, restrictions, as well as muscle weakness and imbalances are identified. X-rays and state-of-the-art ultrasound technology are used for the diagnosis of structural hip joints and surrounding tissue problems. High-resolution ultrasound imaging is advanced enough to see labral tears, greater trochanter tendonitis, and joint arthritis as well as swelling that can cause acute and chronic pain. Advanced imaging techniques such as MRI are frequently used for further assessment.

Hip joint supportive therapy
What to know before you go
Hip joint problems are a common source of buttock, leg, and knee pain. A combination of ligamentous instability, cartilage degeneration, and joint inflammation is typically the underlying cause. OWM Integrative Wellness offers cutting-edge effective treatments including dextrose prolotherapy, PRP, self-renewal cellular tissue support therapy, and peptide therapy to help the hip region heal naturally.  Early treatment of hip arthritis with these methods can often delay or prevent surgical intervention in the future.

Dextrose and cellular prolotherapy
Ultrasound-guided Prolozone injections of the hip joint can relieve pain and inflammation of the arthritic joint. Frequently the hip joint is a victim of underlying ligamentous instability. We treat the entire hip ligament, labrum, and muscle complex to promote joint stabilization. The treatment of underlying hip joint degeneration and instability frequently helps to reduce buttock, leg, knee, groin, and pelvic pain. Unlike a more commonly used target-specific approach where just the hip joint is injected, Dr. Kaplan’s comprehensive technique restores stability to the areas around the joint. This not only allows for better healing but also prevents the recurrence of the breakdown of the area in the future. Aggressive regenerative treatment of the hip can often prevent a need for a hip replacement.

Concentrated dextrose solution is the first line of our regenerative treatments. When injected around the ligaments and deep muscles of the hip, it promotes ligament regeneration and mild cartilage repair. It stimulates and enhances both PRP and self-renewal cellular tissue support therapy's regenerative potential. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a stronger cellular treatment. It promotes joint cartilage regeneration and repair of worn cartilage and ligament. PRP prolotherapy technique is used in more advanced arthritic and degenerative cases. It directly delivers growth factors in the damaged tissue and activates a signaling mechanism that stimulates the body’s self-renewal cellular tissue support therapy production and recruitment to the site of injury. Repair and new tissue growth occur quickly and naturally.

Self-renewal cellular tissue support therapy is the most advanced regenerative technique available. Self-renewal cellular tissue is extracted from either the bone marrow or fat and are immediately reinjected in and around the hip joint. Direct delivery of self-renewal cellular tissue into the affected area allows for repair by the growth of new healthy tissue.

Dr. Kaplan’s in-depth knowledge of peptide therapy allows him to stimulate repair and regeneration with specifically selected peptides. Tissue-repairing peptides BPC and Thymosin beta 4 are used in the injection solutions and CJC/ Ipamorellin is often used to stimulate self-renewal cellular tissue activity before the procedure.

These peptides stimulate and enhance, Dextrose prolotherapy, PRP, and self-renewal cellular tissue support therapy's regenerative potential.

Safety
The ultrasound-guided approach ensures accurate and safe placement of regenerative solutions directly into the foot and ankle joint and surrounding injured tissues. Dr. Kaplan uses solutions that are natural and extremely well-tolerated.
